Top 10 Online MBA Degree Programs

Harvard Business Review has three good reasons why you should get an MBA. But there are other reasons. The MBA is the most popular master’s degree offered online. And that for good reason. The online MBA offers the biggest bang for our buck in respect to its flexibility and its proven potential to accelerate job growth. That is, it currently gives earners their pick of the greatest number of public, private, for-profit, non-profit, academic, research, and corporate jobs available, which it’s almost never a bad idea to think about how you might earn a Masters in Business Administration.

Sampling 93 online MBA programs, we’ve found the Top 10. We curated this list of schools using a three-dimensional metric that measures these programs’ affordability in terms of tuition per credit hour, flexibility in terms of number of concentrations and accelerated options available, as well as student support services in terms of level of accessibility to administrative personnel. By these metrics, only MBA programs with the lowest tuition per credit hour, greatest number of flexible options for degree completion, and the greatest quality of student support services have risen to the top.

Methodology:

  • Affordability (1/3): an institution’s cost per credit hour for out-of-state residents provided by the degree program or institutional website.

  • Flexibility (1/3): the number of options—including acceptance of prior college credits, self-paced learning initiatives, accelerated courses, and number of specializations—that allow students to complete a program at a pace of their choosing.

  • Student Support Services (1/3): an institution’s rank for providing student support service such as digital library assistance, virtual office hours, and access to career services.
